FC Rubin win 3:1 in today’s home game against SKA-Khabarovsk within ROSGOSSTRAKH Russian Championship MD 20.
From the very first minutes it became clear that Rubin was going to play an aggressive football willing to score and close out the year with a victory. Rubin should have been three balls up by the 16th minute but just like in our previous matches unluckily we did not manage to put the ball in the net. So far. Any way Rubin dominated the game from the very beginning and obviously our first goal was only a matter of time. And it really was as Maxim Kannunikov fought well to make Sardar Azmoun receive the smart flick of Mijo Caktas. This was the way how Sardar scored his first goal after his return to Rubin.
The second goal was scored 15 minutes later and just into the same corner of Aleksander Dovbnya’s goal as before. It was Kanunnikov’s finish at the near post after a perfect assist of Magomed Ozdoev. Actually, Maga was the one who scored the third goal after winning the ball back on the opposition half in order to convert his one-on-one chance. At the end of the game SKA-Khabarovsk scored a consolation goal of Maksimenko.
Although today we played against the league outsider, it was still an important victory for FC Rubin to close out the first half of the season in a positive way.
