FC Rubin midfielder Yann M’Vila shares his expectations ahead of ROSGOSSTRAKH Russian Championship MD 18 against CSKA.
-CSKA played in the Champions League as recently as yesterday. Is this fact going to give any advantage to Rubin?
-They are going to be a little bit tired both physically and mentally, I guess. At the same time, we all know that CSKA players are used to play two or three games a week. So it’s not something new to them, they will be fit and 100 % ready ahead of Rubin. We should train, get prepared and concentrate on playing our own game and not on how fit the opposition side is.
-Does the team feel pressure because of those problems in terms of attack and how are these problems being solved?
-Actually, our strikers are having chances in each match. For example, during the last game against Arsenal Rifat had two opportunities, but it was a question of finishing. They are having our faith and they always will have it. On the other hand, it does not only depend on strikers but on the whole team, including midfielders who are able to assist or score or defenders to join the set-pieces. So it’s a problem of the whole team, not only strikers. It’s a question of luck as well, we’ll do our best to improve it.
-Cesar Navas is back now. Is it going to be an additional positive factor in terms of emotions and morale?
-Yes, certainly, Cesar is an important person in our team as well as Ryzhikov, Karadeniz, Kuzmin and other guys for he is one of our leaders both on and off the pitch. He’s our big brother. We are all so happy that he is back. It’s going to help us get a good result in the next game and other matches as well. So we should do our best and try to win for him as well.
